Practical guides and remedies to maintain your oral health at home

Guides & Remedies

Pain Relief

Saltwater Rinse

Mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt in 8 oz warm water. Swish for 30 seconds and spit. Repeat 2-3 times daily to reduce inflammation and kill bacteria.

Toothache

Clove Oil Application

Apply a small amount of clove oil to a cotton ball and gently press against the affected tooth. Eugenol in cloves is a natural anesthetic.

Swelling

Cold Compress

Apply an ice pack wrapped in cloth to the outside of your cheek for 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. Helps reduce swelling and numb pain.

Infection

Hydrogen Peroxide Rinse

Mix equal parts 3% hydrogen peroxide and water. Swish for 30 seconds (do not swallow). Helps reduce plaque and treat gum disease symptoms.

Sensitivity

Peppermint Tea Bags

Steep a peppermint tea bag, let it cool, then apply to the sensitive area. Peppermint has numbing properties that can soothe pain.

Cleaning

Baking Soda Paste

Mix baking soda with a few drops of water to create a paste. Brush gently for 2 minutes. Acts as a mild abrasive and whitener.
